The Case of the Frankentablet

Sooo... my tablet was not happy. There was a kink in the USB cord, and it wasn't being read very well by the computer. In fact, not well at all. So we isolated the problem, and Patrick fixed it. He chopped off then end of the USB (eep!) and soldered on a new piece from an old mouse. He taped it up, and voila! It works! Even though he says its the worst soldering job he's ever done. Heh. Anywho, there's four color-coded wires in the cord, so he matched those up, soldered them and wrapped them in electrical tape, then taped up the rest. We were gonna put heat-shrink tubing over it, but he forgot to put it on before he soldered. Oops. Heh. He may redo it eventually. But meanwhile, no problems! Yaayy!!!

Pretty Sweet Pea

Sweet Pea is a really sweet kitty once she gets to know you and trust you. :) Here you can see that she's a diluted calico.. like Mandy but with pastel colors. Yes, that's Meara's catnip toy. She loves it, though. Heh.
