Day 2!
Well, today we went up north to Lake Placid. The drive alone was worth the trip. (That and take pictures is pretty much all we did.) Anywho, here's a few of our pictures. We filled up the memory card in the camera. :P The mountain with all the cars in front of it is the Olympic Mountain a.k.a. Whiteface Mountain, where the olympic athletes train and where the Olympics were held in 1980-something. (Normal people ski there, too.) Mostly its pretty pictures along the roadside. As you can see, Chipper tried to return to the wild. He didn't like it much, though, and came back. We're just relaxing for the rest of the day.
Yesterday we went to the Hyde Collection: www.hydecollection.org, which was super-spiffy. They had REALLY neat old art. There were thumbles made by Paul Revere, 1500s tapestries, rennaisance furniture, and a 12th century stained-glass window depicting (in part) a lamp which was hanging behind it. Neat-o.
Also went to the Chapman Historical Museum: www.chapmanmuseum.org, which was fun. It was a middle-class (psh!) house built in the late 1800s.
ALSO we went to Aimee's Dinner and a Movie: www.aimiesdinnerandmovie.com, which was really neat. You have a few booths in a real theater, and are served just before the show starts so you can eat and watch the movie at the same time. Its not nearly as distracting as it sounds. We saw Good Night, and Good Luck. It was a good movie. Go see! Also, good food.
